Symposium AI and Biotechnology

On November 5, 2026, the Netherlands Commission on Genetic Modification (COGEM) hosts an international symposium on the application of Artificial Intelligence in Biotechnology.  Speakers will address topics including large language models, AI applications for protein sequencing and proteomics, accelerating plant breeding, and generative AI. In addition, the symposium will address regulatory challenges and other issues involved in capitalizing on the opportunities that AI offers for biotechnology, while ensuring that biosafety and biosecurity are maintained and addressing potential ethical concerns.
